A maximum break in snooker

This is old (Ronnie O'Sullivan, 1997), but I've never posted it before, and it is a remarkable performance (The "maximum break" has been achieved 78 times in professional competition, 11 of those by this man).  Also, for a particularly impressive pot of the pink, watch Steve Davis near the end of his 1982 maximum break.

Those interested in the details and rules will find them in the top comment in this Reddit thread.

  1. This man is like a beautiful freak of nature. Absolutely astonishing power of concentration. I would love to see some graphic representation of the higher math computations going on in his head. I had the pleasure of seeing him live back in those days - what a spectacle! The crowd on the edge of their seats: "would he do it?"

  2. That brings back some memories from 30+ years ago. When I was at Illinois in the late 70s, I worked with an old fellow who taught me how to shoot snooker.

I've never seen anyone run a snooker table before.

    Thanks -
